thought for the day: organic = sustainable
what customers are saying: I left Countryside for cheaper, "All-Natural" feed. When my customers started COMPLAINING about the taste of my eggs I came back to Countryside!

Initial news about the Super Committee Failure appears to be mostly financial conjecture regarding credit ratings. Here are some other stories:
A quick and incomplete gloss of the internal machinations, secrecy and leaks.
Wikipedia page on Super Committee. Not a single use of the word “farm” in the entire article.
If you google farm bill you are going to see a non-organic cornucopia of industry-derived stories (propaganda) hitting the ether. Yikes.
Ah, here is some sanity.

Commodity pricing on grains continues to rise due to increased world demand, biofuels pressure and, with a silver lining, increasing interest in organic products. We are doing our best to keep the prices on our Certified Organic, Soy-Free Feeds as low as possible. In classic Countryside style we have put off raising our feed prices for as long as possible, but ultimately they had to move, and so we are raising our feed prices. The current price hike is pretty much consistent at $1 per bag on our feeds and organic grains. Thank you for your understanding and your custom. And thank-you for choosing organic and sustainable.

what customers are saying: I would just like to say that I am extremely satisfied with the
quality of your soy-free organic chicken feeds. My laying hens have been raised on it since birth and are now healthy and productive. I know that what I am feeding them is good for the Earth, good for the chickens, and good for myself, and free from herbicides, pesticides, and the hormones in soy. Everyone who has tried my eggs has commented on how much better they taste than supermarket eggs. Plus, the feed is always shipped fast so I can order a new bag a few days before I run out and have the new feed on time.
